I don't believe in ghosts, but they still creep me out
This time, I was on the potty when I heard footsteps in the house. Now I am alone in the house, the landlord has found another place to live and would anyway not suddenly be there at this time. It did not sound like the footsteps were downstairs anyway, but it is hard to say for sure. The sounds are really warmped in the bathroom. It could even be from outside - I have often heard voices when I am there that sound like they are RIGHT outside, but when I look out there is no one on the property at all, and no one even near. It is as if my bathroom has an invisible portal to another dimension. More likely it is some acoustic effect. Anyway, it did not sound like it was outside this time, but in the house. Only a very few steps. Needless to say I was creeped out, and I still have goosebumps running around my body now and again. I checked every room, nook and cranny, since I had the doors open for a good while today. (Only to this floor, though, not to downstairs, and besides I was here all the time.)
As I said, I don't believe in ghosts in the religious sense, but just having something unexplained and undefined in the house is creepy enough.
