"Dear sweet gentle rutabaga." Those were the words that were left in my head with no explanation when I woke up. I don't remember any dream, only this extremely tame oath. As a matter of fact, I had no idea what a rutabaga was. My best guess was some Australian wildlife or some such. Well, it turned out to be a vegetable with which I am (much against my will) familiar from my childhood! Evidently it is less than popular in English speaking countries, and I can certainly understand that. A cross between cabbage and turnip, it is also called Swedish turnip, and grows willingly in subarctic climates. The name evidently comes from Swedish too, but I have never heard it in Swedish either.

Sometimes I wonder what my brain is up to when I am not watching ...
