You'd expect better from the British

Drug-dealing milkman spared jail (Reuters, Oddly Enough)

You know, it is pretty messed up when the prosecutor says "There is no proof that he didn't do other crimes too", and doubly bad when the judge runs with it.

I mean, you could say "it does not matter if you only sell hemp to dying people and don't make a profit, the law doesn't make exceptions for that". I can respect that. If you want to legalize cannabis to dying people, vote for politicians who support this. (It has been done elsewhere.) But "we'll assume you committed other crimes too" doesn't fly, no matter what crime we're talking about.
