13 centigrades below freezing

That's what the thermometer outside showed as I went to work. And I go to work fairly late in the morning/early day, so it may have been even colder before. How cold is it? It is so cold that the thin layer of snow makes a high-pitched crunching sound when you step on it, but not quite enough for your nostrils to begin to freeze shut from the edges. Or they just barely try.

The fine dusting of snow is too little to insulate the plants against a frost like this. Poor plants.

But with two big computers and a space heater and hot chicken soup, I am not freezing. Just a little chilly.
