Porcupine

DVD burner installed

It's called Freecom. I am not sure that it can actually write DVDs, it kinda panicked when first presented with a blank DVD-R. But as a CD-ROM it works quite nicely. Then I tried inserting a movie DVD. The computer correctly identified the movie, but failed to play it (it tried with Windows Media Player). I had to install a separate DVD movie player that came with the box.

Anyway, I have tried the DVD burner alone and in conjunction with CD burner. (The internal DVD/CD reader died after a few weeks, since by law of nature computers must be faulty in some way.) Being fed a writable DVD definitely freaks the system out, to the point where both of the stations withdraw into their shell and refuse to even read normal program CDs anymore.
