Porcupine

Before I forget

Some quotes from my Christmas holiday with my amazing best friend, codename SuperWoman, and her fascinating family.

SW: "Magnus, can you help me find a picture of a naked man on the Net?"
Me: "Why would *I* be more competent in finding naked men than *you*?"
SW: "I mean, like a medical web site or something."

And several days later, casually talking about sexual preferences:
Me: "If you want, I can demonstrate to you exactly how hetero I am."
SW: "No, I take your word for it."
Me, thinking: (What did I just say?)

"In your dreams"

Today after I came home from work and had some food, I turned on the computer to play Dark Age of Camelot. The connection to USA was bad, so I registered at another ISP which I hoped had a better connection. (Tele2.no.) But it would not even connect. It just kept calling and then after a while it cut off and called again, racking up money with each attempt. Once it checked username and password, then cut off again. Fat competition we have in the ISP business here in Norway.

But that's not the point. Later in the evening I finally got through on my ordinary ISP, the former state monopoly. I played for half an hour or a bit more, doing tailor consignments (making leather armor on request). But a day of work and nights with too little sleep was taking its toll, and I started to nod off in front of the monitor. When I lagged out, I logged out, stumbled to the bedroom, pulled off my pants and went to bed. Just for a nap. Not long after I was fast asleep, and dreamt that I was playing Dark Age of Camelot, with the very same character, when suddenly my character was attacked from behind. Just then the screen went black. In fact, the whole room went pitch black so I could not find the keys to run away. In my dream, I turned on the light, and the monitor came back, but the character had died meanwhile. And then I woke up, my heart pounding.

Wow. Now back to playing Dark Age of Camelot. I'm not sleepy anymore.
