Pocky dreams

Yes indeed. I overslept by almost two hours; the electric alarm clock lost power and reset itself. But it was almost worth it, as I had a long long dream about Pocky (or Mikado, as the snack is called in Europe). There was also a toddler and a microwave (not a good combination) and a house with many rooms. I liked that. But it's the Pocky I remember best.

New computer fixed!

Fixed the Word problem. It seems the machine comes with various MicroSoft programs pre-installed. You only have to buy a lisence, type in the code, and the programs are up and running - they are already on the harddisk. The sheer arrogance of it. Filling up the disk with junk like that.

So today was de-install day. After erasing any trace of MS Word, I installed the Word97 for SuperWoman to use. This time it worked fine. I still think it is horrible overkill for her. But that's what they learn in school these days, I think.

Bought a nice carrying bag too. Called her. Yes, she is emotionally uncomfortable with getting the new machine instead of the old. (I think the idea that I prioritize her over myself is kinda scary. I suppose it would be to most adults.) But she'll get used to it. And I would have had to spend days moving all my stuff from my old machine to the new. Plus, after her father threw away the old computer of mine, this portable is the last I have that can run all my old games at all.
